Photo: Monty on the Ledge

In the steamy interior of the Bloedel Conservatory, an artificial oasis of jungle perched atop Vancovuer's Little Mountain, there live many birds among trees and plants from across the continents. Birds like Monty, a Princess Parrot originally from Australia. He obligingly hung out on the edge of the ledge while I figured out how to take a picture that didn't leave him out of focus in favor of the solid sky behind him.
