Even after living here for almost two years, I still get somewhat gobsmacked every time I really think about how the North Shore Mountains are so close to Vancouver, individual trees can be easily resolved with nothing more than a zoom lens - like rough mountain stubble. Back east wilderness such as this is pretty much confined to provincial parks, and they're not nearly as unavoidable. This shot was taken in February 2011, from somewhere along Broadway.
