PDP #139: Straight Down the Centre

Though Eaton's as a company ceased to exist a while ago, the Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto still carries its name forward. It's one of the largest malls in the city, is served by two subway stations, and has a sufficiently forward-looking architecture that the mall scenes in the 2000 Arnold Schwarzenegger movie The 6th Day were filmed here. The long skylight makes the place bright enough that my camera was able to take interior photographs with no trouble at all.

Had the developers had their way back when it was in the planning stages, Toronto's historic Old City Hall would've been demolished to make room for it. Because, you know, historical preservation is for nerds.
