Photo: Dark Clouds Over North Vancouver

There's something about the early evening, when the sun is still in the sky but illuminating things on the ground at practically a ninety-degree angle, that can make for compelling photographs; some parts of the immediate world are lit up like it's still the middle of the day, while others are already living in shadow. This shot, looking across Burrard Inlet, was taken a little after 7 PM, and though the cranes at the port are bright as traffic cones the mountains are already dark.
